Festivals draw the attention of young target groups and media alike. The organisers should feel a responsibility towards sustainable production and communication with their visitors, artists and partners. More and more major events develop their own sustainability programs. We show two different approaches from ID&T (Mysteryland, NL) and the Melt! Festival (DE) and discuss challenges and best practises in communicating green.

Co-owner of GreenEvents Europe promoting agency, Bonn Promotion Dept. and had a career of two decades as managing director and production manager with admission-free festival RhEINKULTUR (160,000 visitors). In 2010 he started the GreenEvents conference. 2011's edition saw more than 100 participants from eleven countries, major festivals, event venues and the suppliers branch as well.
